Something of Muse—Social Inspiration

This passing semester in the Graphic Design program at George Brown College I received a project for my Design Culture class that sparked some interest. The design brief was essentially to create a proposal for a design museum in downtown Toronto "to be the first permanent museum devoted to graphic design in North America". I basically used this project as an excuse to spend eighty hours on something I've wanted to do for a long time.

As a web designer interested in social media, naturally, I wanted to create a website. For the purposes of the project, the website would be in place to assist in choosing what pieces would be in the museum. I would have the community upload pictures of their favourite designs that would be voted on discreetly by the community. This discrete voting system is essentially an "add to favourites" button.

The website, outside the purposes of the project, is a place for designers to come and share their inspirations. This social inspiration, if embraced by the community, will be a fantastic resource for designers of all disciplines. I will continue to build and support as it grows.
